It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for folks in Greene County.
And no your calendar is correct, we are still in July.
This weekend several state parks in Indiana are celebrating their “Christmas in July” event.
One of the celebrations kicked off Friday evening at Shakamak State Park.
There were Christmas trees, lights, presents, snowmen (not real snow of course) and last but not least, Santa Claus!!!
This event doesn’t just attract locals but we ran into folks who were visiting from Evansville, Fort Wayne and even Ohio.
Just goes to show that the Christmas Spirit is strong even in July.
“I like the fact of having Christmas in July, because it’s usually cold and I’d rather be in the warmth,” said Brenda O’Riley of Jamestown, IN
“My favorite thing is when people drive by and admire the work I do,” said Kyle Echert of Evansville, IN
If you didn’t get a chance to make it out to the festivities this evening no worries this event runs all weekend.
With even more fun activities such as a scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, a campsite contest and a visit with Santa.
