State workers in Illinois will now be under greater scrutiny when it comes to drugs and alcohol.

Governor Bruce Rauner announced Wednesday that the state will test government employees who show signs of being under the influence.

If someone tests positive, they will be suspended for thirty days and enrolled in a confidential rehab program.

There will not be random testing.
