VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) In December of 2000, a jury found Brian Jones guilty of raping and murdering Vincennes University student Brook Baker.

Back then, Brook’s father spoke about being pleased with the verdict.

“We’re satisfied, we know we have the right person and maybe he won’t be able to harm
anyone anymore,” said Maurice Baker.

Baker was found stabbed to death in her off-campus apartment in September of 1997.

Police followed several leads, but it was not until tragically, another Vincennes University student, Erika Norman, was reported missing in July of 1999 that police got the break in the case they needed.

Norman was last seen with a man named Brian Jones. Later Jones pleaded guilty to Norman’s murder and received 60 years in prison.

A jury found him guilty of raping and killing Baker. A judge sentenced him to life in prison.
