TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Cars were lined down the road as families made their way to Deming Park’s trunk or treat Saturday.
The event was held in a drive-thru style since their usual Halloween Happenings event was canceled due to COVID-19.
Families were able to drive through the park and get candy from 13 area businesses
People even dressed up and decorated their cars.
Event organizers said it was a great way to keep the Halloween tradition going, even with the unexpected changes.
“We still get to see the kids happy excited. It’s a little bit the best of the both worlds for what we can do in this time,” said Jennifer Johnson, assistant director of recreation.
The Deming Park train will be running for families this weekend and next weekend, from noon to 4 p.m..
