UPDATE: According to the Knox County Coroner’s Office, a toxicology report is currently pending for Donald Rickard with the preliminary cause of death described as “accidental drowning.”

Rickard’s body was recovered from the Wabash River on Tuesday.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man pulled from the Wabash River on Tuesday.

Sheriff Mike Morris reported that the body of 40 year old Donald E. Rickard of Vincennes was recovered from the river near the Russellville Landing around 7:30 P.M. Tuesday. This was after he was reported missing. Rickard was last seen on Saturday while swimming in the river.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Dept. was assisted in the recovery by Indiana Conservation Officers and Indiana State Police.
