A different type of campus took place on the Indiana State University campus Monday night.
“Day of the Dead” was a social celebration hosted by the Hispanic-Latino Alliance.
The event is a traditional Hispanic celebration for those who have died.
The Day of the Dead celebration included a taco bar, activities, music and dancing.
Organizers say the event helps publicize Hispanic traditions at Indiana State.
“We put on these events to educate people, educate our students so they know that these events are here for them to celebrate and wanting to be a part of our culture too,” says Jocelyn Ortiz of the Hispanic Latino Alliance at Indiana State
Ortiz says the alliance holds various events throughout the year and you don’t have to be Hispanic or Latino to attend.
