DAVIESS Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Daviess County is in the top five in the state of Indiana for high COIVD-19 positivity rates and community spread, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
As of Sunday, the county as over 900 cases and 34 deaths.
The state said Daviess County is at level orange according to the state, and is on the verge of level red. This is based on weekly cases and positivity rates.
If the county moves to red, the state health commissioner and county health officer could restrict activities.
In a statement Saturday, the Daviess County Health Officer urged residents to wear masks, wash hands, social distance and avoid large gatherings.
This way the community can stop the spread and avoid a shut down.
