A Daviess County man was arrested last week on charges of illegal gambling.

Roger E. Padgett, 60, of Washington was arrested January 31 after a four-year investigation by the Indiana Gaming Commission uncovered a bookmaking operation Padgett was conducting out of his bar.

Padgett was charged with four felony counts of professional gambling alleging he accepted wagers on professional sporting events and accepted or offered to accept money or property having been risked in gambling.

Padgett is the owner of the Tuxedo Bar in Washington.
