DAVIESS Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Maysville resident reporting a sighting of human remains Saturday.

Daviess County officials and Indiana State Police said they responded to the scene at Hawkins Creek.

Officials are not sure if the remains are those of Dan Grannan, a Daviess County man, who went missing near Maysville in August 2019. However, they said the Grannan family was notified.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, there is no time frame of when the remains will be identified.

The Daviess Co. Coroner’s Office and Daviess Co. Prosecutor’s Office are also assisting with the investigation.

This is a developing story.
