Date set for Vigo County Jail groundbreaking


VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Vigo County Commissioners have set a preliminary date for the groundbreaking of the new jail.

Commissioners are currently waiting to sort out the bond issue to pay for the new jail which will cost around $52 million to construct.

The jail, which the county has been ordered to build by a federal judge, will take roughly two years to construct, and officials hope to break ground on December 13.
