TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars held their 15th annual kick-off celebration Wednesday evening. There will be twelve dancers participating in the fundraising event this year.
Over the past 14 years, the event has raised over $2 million. All proceeds will go toward youth programming at the Booker T. Washington Community Center.
Brandon Halleck, Chief Operating Officer of Chances and Services for Youth, said their donations are increasing every year.
“We were so thrilled that every year it seemed to grow and grow and grow. The past couple of years we’ve been able to get over $200,000 fundraising wise and honestly it just shows how caring and giving our community is,” he said.
Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars will take place on Friday, October 1, at Hulman Center.
