TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The new Culver’s on Terre Haute’s east side celebrated ahead of their grand opening with a ribbon cutting Saturday morning.

Owners of the popular fast food restaurant, known for its butter burger and cheese curds, invited members of the community to be part of the big moment.

Mayor Duke Bennett attended the ribbon cutting and shared words of encouragement.

Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce President Kristin Craig was also in attendance.

The owners of Culver’s said they’re excited to open their doors, and it’s because of the community that they’re able to do so.

“We wanted to be part of the community. We used local contractors, we hired local people. We focused on the universities. Vigo County, one of our best assets is the four universities,” said owner, Matt Bilyeu.

Culver’s opens its doors and drive-thru at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
