BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local center that works with expecting families receives a donation toward its efforts.

On Wednesday, 100 Women Who Care Clay County presented $6,600 to the Crisis Pregnancy Center. This money will help fund the center’s mobile unit that travels to Brazil once a week.

It will help cover fuel and vehicle costs, as well as help the Earn While You Learn program.

“They can view videos. We have one-on-one mentors that work with them with pre-natal issues, with having a baby, what it’s like, things to do with a baby once the baby gets here, how to care for the baby,” explains Carol Lucas, Mobile Unit Nurse Manager. “They earn points, or dollars, and they can shop in the boutique. We want to be a support system for them during this time.”

Aside from educational services, they also provide pregnancy tests and STD tests.
