Failure to yield at damaged traffic light causes crash at intersection of U.S. 41, Main Street in Farmersburg

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There was a crash in Farmersburg at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Main Street. That’s where the traffic light is located, but Wednesday night’s storm caused an outage at the light.

The Thunderbird Fire Chief said one person was sent to Sullivan County Community Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He said one vehicle failed to yield at the traffic light and rear-ended the vehicle in front.

Law enforcement has been monitoring the intersection to ensure all vehicles yield.

The crash put traffic down to one lane temporarily.

The traffic light at the intersection is now working as of Thursday evening.
