A court date has been set for a West Terre Haute police officer who is suing the city he used to serve.
Former police officer Jonathan Stevens Sr. is asking the Court to either affirm, reverse or modify his recent firing by West Terre Haute’s Town Safety Board.
Stevens was found guilty of conduct unbecoming of an officer, and his employment with the department was terminated last year following a plea agreement in a domestic battery case.
The former officer has been fighting to overturn the board decision.
Back in January, Stevens filed a verified complaint in Vigo County Superior court claiming Town Council retaliated against after settling a 2015 federal lawsuit in which he alleged racial discrimination.
Both parties are expected to appear in court July 2.
