Members of the Terre Haute City Council met for a special meeting on Thursday, to discuss a request for a tax abatement for a local business.

The request came from Sony DADC.

You may remember, last winter, the company announced layoffs.

With more that half the workforce laid off, the Terre Haute manufacturer no longer meets the criteria for its tax abatement from the city.

This lead to the council’s decision to deny the tax abatement request for the business.

The vote was unanimous.
