Copper Bar uses big game to say thank you to customers

The Copper Bar has been serving Terre Haute for thirteen years, and every year there’s a big game watch party.

“Me and my friends have been coming to the Copper for a long time. It’s a starter, it’s an ender. It’s the place to be,” said customer Dallas Lakes.

But starting Februrary 4th, the Copper will be closed for renovations.

Owner Rob Lundstrom is using this years party to say thank you to customers, and celebrate what’s to come.

“It’s really been an honor for everything. We’ve been able to serve with the Wabash Valley, and to be part of the community,” said Lundstrom. “And this was a really good opportunity to say thank you.”

According to Lundstrom the building requires work on the roof, plumbing and kitchen before it can reopen to the public.

As of right now, the timeline for renovations is unclear.

And Lundstrom hopes to feel the same level of energy at his bar during tonight’s game as in games of the past, “The most raucus night we’ve had in here is when the Colts have been in the superbowl. And particularly when they beat the Bears.”

Until then, football fans will eat, drink and be merry during the game.

Even though the Colts aren’t playing.

“My favorite part of the superbowl will be to watch Tom Brady do his magic, even though I’m a very loyal Colts fan,” said customer Dawna Hendrix.
