Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
1 cup shortening (10 tablespoons Crisco and 6 tablespoons butter)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon Durkee’s imitation vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
Sift dry ingredients together and set aside. Cream butter and shortening together. Add sugars and vanilla to shortening. Cream together. Add eggs and beat into sugar/shortening mixture. Stir in dry ingredients; then stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for about 1 minute before moving to wire rack to cool.
