Some lucky kindergartners in Sullivan County will be receiving some brand news books, and it was all thanks to the community.

With the amazing support of their community, each of the 22 students in Arika Nicol’s kindergarten class at Sullivan Elementary School, will receive a brand-new Scholastic book every month.

Mrs. Nicol asked sponsors to donate $10–which is enough money to provide one student a new book from Scholastic for every month of the school year. Every student quickly received a sponsor, and the students are looking forward to receiving a new book every month that will be theirs to keep.

“Some students may not be able to afford ordering out of the Scholastic order forms. Reading is so important and I want them to have access to quality books at their homes,” explained Mrs. Nicol. “Students will receive a book a month for the entire school year. Members of the community were kind enough to donate money for the purchase of the books.”

Amazing work from the community and from all of us here at WTWO congratulations to Mrs. Nicol’s class and happy reading!
