Coffee with a Cop helps community build relationships with local law enforcement

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Wednesday, local law enforcement joined the public over a fresh pot of coffee.

Officials said the Coffee with a Cop events are a great way for residents and local police departments to get to know each other and establish good relationships.

“I think its very important for us to get out and be involved in the community so that people know who the faces are behind the badges, or the law enforcement that are out here tying to provide them a safe environment” said Sgt. Matt Ames, Indiana State Police Public Information Officer.

The event, sponsored by Triad Incorporated,  took place at Starbucks at South Point Crossing in Terre Haute.
