Climbing Cafe to host Foster Awareness Day, donations needed

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Climbing Cafe in Terre Haute is looking to raise awareness when it comes to foster care. On January 16, they will be hosting a Foster Awareness Day event.

The event will be a time for the community to be educated about foster care.

Foster care agencies, prior and current foster children, and support organizations will be there to answer questions.

Climbing Cafe will also be accepting donations for foster kids.

Those donations include:

  • socks
  • underwear
  • backpacks
  • toothpaste
  • soap
  • books
  • blankets
  • pillows
  • stuffed animals

According to the owner of Climbing Cafe, he hopes events like this can create a bright future for those in the foster care system.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
