The Vigo County Clerk’s Office wants to make people aware of a couple of things during the voting period ahead of the municipal primary.
Memorial United Methodist Church on Poplar Street will be a vote center on election day. However, eastbound Poplar Street is closed for construction, so the clerk’s office advises people to use the Oak Street entrance.
Also, the clerk’s office wants to remind people that you must live within city limits to vote in the Terre Haute municipal primary.
If you want to vote in the West Terre Haute, you must live within town limits.
“We encourage everyone to get out and vote that wants to vote. If you still feel like you want to vote even though you may live in the county, you can vote provisional. It may not count, but if you’re determined that you want to vote, that is still available to you,” says chief deputy clerk Leanna Moore.
If you’re unsure about whether you live within the city or town limits, you can call voter registration at 812-462-3393.
