Cleaning up and Counting Numbers

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure took over Meadows Shopping Center this Weekend.

841 participants, including survivors and supporters, were registered for the walk/run.

While the big day may be over, there is still lots of work to be done.

Volunteers are currently in clean-up mode as they recover from the race festivities.

In the lower level of the Meadows, volunteers are organizing T-shirts and supplies in the Wabash Valley Susan G. Komen Office.

“We’ll leave some out for anybody that maybe missed getting their T-Shirt, we do still have them here. They can just stop in and we can give those to them. And it’s just organizing all of the supplies and repacking them up and getting ready for next years race,” said Community Manager Tammy Lundborg.

According to Lundborg planning for next years race will begin in about two months.

So far $60,771 has been raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and donations are still pouring in.

The foundation will still be accepting donations until November 2nd.
