There are now 645 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indiana, according to the latest ISDH data.

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Health officials in Clay County announced Saturday the first case of coronavirus detected in the county.

The announcement came via news release and said the patient is self-isolating at home. No other information about the patient was provided.

“Clay County is working closely with the local and state officials to ensure that contacts of the patient are identified and monitored and that all infection control protocols are being followed,” the release said.

The Clay County case was not reflected in the state update released Saturday morning, although local updates have been announced apart from the state in some other local cases. The Indiana State Department of Health reported 1,232 cases of COVID-19 in the state and 31 deaths on Saturday morning.

Vigo County health officials announced a fourth case of the virus in that county Friday evening. That person died. The total active cases of COVID-19 in Vigo County was three as of Saturday afternoon.

Sullivan and Vermillion counties have also reported one case each of coronavirus.
