Clay County applies for grant to replace fire station

News

Clay County is hoping to receive help replacing a volunteer fire station.

The county applied for a grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to replace Center Point Volunteer Fire Station.

If approved, the grant would provide $495,000 toward the project. The current fire station is over 60 years old.

A public hearing on the matter was held Monday.

The county will know by August if the grant was approved.
