A man learns how much time he’ll serve for his role in a young boy’s death.
Chad Kraemer was sentenced to 9 years by a Vigo County judge Thursday afternoon.
Five years are to spent in prison, followed by two years in home detention and two more years on probation.
He has a credit of one year, which will be applied to one of the two years.
Kraemer plans to appeal. Last month, he pleaded guilty in the starvation death of Cameron Hoopingarner.
The 9-year-old disabled child starved to death in 2017.
Hoopingarner weight just 15 pounds when he died.
Three other people were arrested in the case.
