Center welcomes three new tigers

The Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point welcomed three new residents on Friday.

Three tigers arrived from Texas.

The center’s director Joe Taft says the tigers came from a private owner in that state who could no longer keep them.

The organization Tigers in America worked to relocate the big cats to the feline center.

The tigers arrived in the Wabash Valley around 5 A.M. Friday morning and were unloaded into their enclosures around 10 A.M.

The center is thankful to Duke Energy, which volunteered to set all the poles in the tigers’ cage in just a day’s time.

“That’s a magnitude above whatever we could possibly do, so thee tigers will hopefully be very thankful to Duke Energy,” says Taft. “We are.”

Duke Energy has volunteered there many times in the past. Its efforts included putting in underground wiring, as well as transformers, so the animals can have heated water buckets in all the cages.
