The CDC is advising everyone to get their flu shot this year, after last year’s flu season was the deadliest one in decades.

In an interview with the Associated Press, the director of the CDC says an estimated 80,000 Americans died from the flu; including 180 kids.

That’s the most in at least four decades.

Approximately 12,000 to 56,000 people die from the flu in an average year.

The CDC says 80% of the children who died from the flu were *not* vaccinated.

So if you haven’t got your flu shot yet, they advise you should probably do so to avoid getting infected.
