Cash for a Good Cause


The results are now in and the effort to find a cure for Alzheimer’s received a much need boost of money.  Today, we learned $57,400 was raised during the Alzheimer’s associations “Walk to end Alzheimers.”

An estimated 600 residents from Vigo and surrounding counties joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s and united in a movement to reclaim the future for millions at Fairbanks Parks in Terre Haute on Sunday, Sept. 17.

To date, Terre Haute participants have raised 88 percent of the Alzheimer’s Association goal to raise $65,000 at the 2017 Terre Haute Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will help fund caregiver support and Alzheimer’s disease research for Hoosiers affected by this disease.

Clinton Gardens received the Top Corporate Team Award, raising more than $6,700, and Paula’s World received the Top Community Team Award, raising $2,370. They, along with several other award winners, were recognized for their support during an opening ceremony.
