VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County residents took part in candlelight vigil Sunday night, honoring the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ginsburg died Friday of complications from pancreatic cancer.

Several people gathered at the federal courthouse on Ohio Street to remember her legacy.

Speakers reflected on Ginsburg’s life, including her work for women’s rights and equality.

“Ruth is considered a hero in a lot of our eyes. So it’s a way of paying tribute to our hero for all the things she’s done for the female gender, for the gender equality,” said Bionca Gambill, who attended the vigil.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was 87-years-old.
