Many people in the community are very interested in the Vigo County School Corporation. And tonight, a full house greeted a number of candidates who want to serve on the school board.
The League of Women voters hosted a candidate forum at the Vigo County Library. There was a lot interest in this forum, because of the many issues facing the corporation.
In the past year, a former superintendent has been charged with bribery and there is also talk of building new schools. That’s why many citizens are interested in the school board candidates.
“We host these candidate forums so that the public can have the views of the candidates so they can make an informed vote on election day,” said Carolyn Callecod, president of the League of Women Voters.
Five candidates for the school board were at tonight’s forum. Also, a meet and greet session was held after the forum.
