Brush Fires Causing Extra Work for Firefighters

Local fire departments are dealing with extra work on their hands due to brush fires.

A member of the Honey Creek Fire Department says he’s responded to six brush fires Monday alone, including one that occurred off of State Road 246.

A resident started a fire in the field near his house, and left it unattended.

Firefighters are reminding residents to be cautious when burning leaves or trash, and of course to never leave a fire unattended.
