TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Safety at a busy intersection in the Ryves neighborhood will be improved with new lighting.
United Way of the Wabash Valley’s Strong Neighborhood Council awarded the funding for the project to 3 Sisters Investments. The money will go toward installing exterior lighting on a building at the intersection of 19th and Locust streets.
Tiffany Baker, the owner of 3 Sisters Investments, says this project is another step forward in improving what she believes will be an up-and-coming area.
“We love putting our money here, where our hometown is. So this is us doing exactly that. This neighborhood deserves investment and we’re excited to be a part of it,” said Baker.
Baker adds that the lights will do more than just illuminate the building, but also the sidewalks nearby.
“You can see this is a really busy intersection. There’s a lot of people who walk her and so to improve the lighting in the area at night will help out our neighbors.”
