BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Brazil Rotary Club says it is working hard to put on a memorable 4th of July celebration this year, although there will be some changes.
The three day celebration will take place at Forest Park in Brazil.
There will be no carnival this year, but rotary club members say there will be live entertainment and food vendors each night. Club members also say stands will be spaced out farther apart.
There will still be a fireworks display on the 4th of July.
The club says the carnival usually raises money for the fireworks display, so without the carnival, they’re asking for the community’s support.
“Put in $20, tell your kid, tell your grandkid ‘hey, I put that one in the air’. That’s what we need this year from the community is to really step up and help us out to make this thing happen,” says club president-elect Rob Dispennett.
The club says it takes tens of thousands of dollars to put the show on and they say they’re grateful to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation for donating $10,000 to the effort.
