BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Brazil Concert Band will perform “The British are Coming!”, a history-based musical event, at 8 p.m. July 11 at Forest Park in Brazil, Ind.; the performance will happen even in the event of rain.
BCB Director Matthew Huber and the band members will play songs from the United Kingdom such as “Colonel Bogey”, “The Vedette” and “Army Of The Nile”. All of these works were written by Major Fred Rickets, also known by his pen name Kenneth Alford.
The band will also perform “Irish Tune From County Derry” and “Molly On The Shore” from “A Percy Grainger Suite” by Frank Erickson as well as “Country Gardens” by John Philip Sousa.
Songs from “Welsh Folk Suite” by Albert Davis will also be performed, including “Jenny Jones”, “All Through The Night” and “Men Of Harlech”. The band will also play “The Royal Welch Fusiliers” by Sousa.
The concession stand will be open and is being operated by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. The BCB performs every Sunday evening through the end of August.
