Bond has been reduced for a basketball coach from Clark County, Illinois who is accused of committing sexual acts with a juvenile.
53-year-old Barry Wolfe appeared in Coles County Court on Thursday for a bond hearing. His bond was originally set at $5,000,000, with 10% allowed.
The defense requested a bond reduction of $50,000 to $100,000, with 10% allowed.
After hearing arguments, the court reduced the bond to $2,000,000 with 10% allowed. That means Wolfe would have to pay $200,000 to get out of jail.
Wolfe, who was affiliated with an elite girls basketball team, faces 55 counts. His charges include Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Criminal Sexual Assault. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Our sister station WCIA reports that police say Wolfe admitted on tape to having sexual contact with three girls during an interrogation with Mattoon Police.
His next court appearance is set for February.
