Boil Order Issued for Sullivan Customers

UPDATE: We have new information regarding a boil order issued for residents in Sullivan County.

Officials of American Water have announced on Wednesday that they are extending to boil order until tomorrow, Thursday, November 1st.

American Water appreciates the patience of customers in Sullivan, and hope to have this issue resolved by tomorrow morning.


ORIGINAL STORY: We have some important information about a boil order issued for customers in Sullivan County.

On Tuesday, American Water issued a boil order for Sullivan due to a water main break on Wolfe Street between the Walmart and Dairy Queen.

Officials of American Water issued the following statement regarding the order:

“Customers in Sullivan, Indiana will experience a temporary interruption to their water service. Once repairs are made and water service is restored, customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. This boil advisory is expected to be in effect for approximately 24 Hours. You will be notified in the same manner once the boil advisory is lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Customers may call the customer service center at 1.800.492.8373 for more information.”

Again the boil order is expected to remain in effect for at least 24 hours, if this changes we’ll provide with you new updates.
