Blessing Boxes are popping up all over the Wabash Valley, and one family in Terre Haute has kept theirs up for over a year.
The McDonald’s in North Terre Haute began placing Blessing Boxes in front of their home since last summer.
The boxes include a library full of books where you can take or leave a gently used novel, a cooler stocked with non-perishable food items, as well as hygiene products.
Adrian McDonald says the box occasionally has to be refilled up to five times a day, “Seeing the use. People actually use it or donate, it’s great to see the community pitch in to help people in need that may want to keep their dignity and not go ask for help”.
McDonald says donations can bel eft on the back porch of the home located at 4558 N. Clinton St. in Terre Haute.
The Blessing Box also has a Facebook page where folks can make monetary donations. https://www.facebook.com/themcdonaldblessingbox/
