A section of southwest Terre Haute is one step closer to some much-needed improvements.
On Wednesday night, the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission met to go over bids for a new project along Washington Avenue.
The project will extend from 13th to15th street and will include new storm drains, sidewalks and reconstructed streets.
All bids were made by local contractors and the estimated cost is between 8 hundred thousand dollars.
“We are trying to rebuild the infrastructure within the and also separate out the storm and sanitary sewer to help alleviate the over flow going into the treatment plant,” Vigo County Redevelopment Commision Member Phil Kesner said. “It’s also to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods.”
The board will go over the numbers and members hope to reach a decision by mid-March
Once construction starts the project should take around 4 months to complete.
