Bicknell residents voice concerns after police chief is in trouble with the law

Members of a local community are raising concerns about a lack of a police force.

It comes after the police chief found himself in trouble with the law.

As we reported in April, Bicknell police chief Terry Stremming was accused of pushing someone at the Knox County prosecutor’s office.

It happened while he was allegedly trying to take a laptop that was being used as evidence in a case.

Stremming has officially been charged with battery against a public safety official and today Bicknell residents came to City Hall to voice their concerns during a special session with the Board of Public Works and Safety.

As of now, Bicknell only has two police officers from 6 a.m til 6 p.m. with some help from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at night.

The meeting lasted only three minutes and did not allow for questions about the state of the police force.

Some residents had planned to share their concerns about the problem and they also wanted to present a solution.
