WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Authorities are searching for an arson suspect after a home in West Terre Haute is now a complete loss.

Honey Creek Fire Department PIO, Josh Sittler tells us authorities say it’s possible a suspect was running away from the house fire along U.S. 150 Thursday evening.

Sittler says the home had no electricity or utilities running at the time and that no one was currently living in the home, but it was not abandoned.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the arson suspect. Sittler says the sheriff’s office, Honey Creek, Sugar Creek, Shepardsville and New Goshen fire departments, Transcare and West Terre Haute Police were on scene.
