Arts Illiana announces over $92,000 in grants


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A sum of $92,000 has been allocated to some of the areas art programs.

Arts Illiana is the organization responsible for dividing up the money.

The funds will be given to arts programs in several local counties. Some organizations receiving money will be the Swope Art Museum, the Community Theater of Terre Haute and Wabash Valley colleges.

The funds may be used for a single exhibition or to provide support for an on-going program.

“Well, the arts are important to the community in a lot of different ways and that important cause it affects people in a lot of different ways and affects people from are kids art programs, education continents that enhance other things like math and science,” Jon Robeson, executive director of Arts Illiana said.
