A Terre Haute man is behind bars after a couple of armed robberies.
On Thursday morning around 7:28 A.M., officers responded to a home on North 18th Street regarding an armed robbery. A woman there said a man armed with a knife entered her bedroom and began going through her belongings. She told police the man fled when she confronted him.
About a half hour later, police responded to a home on Spang Avenue in regards to a man armed with a knife, allegedly trying to take items from the home. Police say they found the suspect hiding in the garage of a nearby home.
Police say the suspect identified himself as Richard, but he was later identified as 30-year-old Nathan Epple. Police say he had warrants out for his arrest for Pointing a Firearm and Theft. He’s now also facing charges of Armed Robbery and False Reporting.
Terre Haute Police are also investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Marathon gas station at 1301 Ft. Harrison early Thursday morning. Police are reviewing surveillance video and witness statements, and will determine if any additional charges will be filed.
