TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Ceci and Co. and Wellness Box both are planning to reopen following Gov. Eric Holcomb’s orders.
Both businesses said practicing social distance will be a key part of their reopening process.
Ceci and Co., a local salon in Terre Haute, will serve their clients on an appointment only basis starting May 11.
They also have plans to require all salon employees to wear face masks and provide new capes for each client.
Jen Hamilton, co-owner of Ceci and Co., said it’s important for both the clients and salon employees to be responsible to keep themselves and others safe.
“If you’re not feeling well and you know that you’ve been to places that someone has been exposed to it then obviously we ask that you not come in,” she explained. “Same thing with our girls, if one of them is not feeling well, we are just telling them to stay home and take the extra precautions they can to keep our clients and their clients and everyone healthy.”
The salon will also offer disposable face masks to clients and require that clients and employees remain six feet away from one another.
Wellness Box, a local fitness center in Terre Haute, plans to reopen on May 24.
The gym will limit the amount of clients they allow in their facility and implement a strict no sharing policy on gym equipment.
L.T. Thompson, owner of Wellness Box, said although they aren’t sure if clients will begin to book appointments right away, they want to take the necessary precautions.
“We’re going to do the proper screening of no fever just asking different questions to make sure we limit exposure,” he said. “And we’re going to put a restriction on the amount of people who can come in our facility we’re going to keep that less than seven, definitely no more than ten. That’ll give everyone the optimal space to spread out.”
