Annual Red Skelton Festival to return to Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The sixteenth annual Red Skelton Festival, a yearly event honoring the late radio and television personality, will return to Vincennes, Ind., this year on July 16 and 17.

The festival will commence on Friday, July 16, with a performance from Red Skelton impersonator Brian Hoffman with an opening performance my famous ventriloquist Mr. Puppet.

A Red Skelton parade will take place on Saturday, July 17, featuring shriners, clowns and other entertainers from across the Wabash Valley. Lothian Skelton, Red’s widow, will lead the way as parade marshall. The parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. beginning on Main Street in Vincennes and continuing to the Red Skelton museum.

The rest of the festival will be held at the museum, including activities such as games, food vendors, live performances and magic shows. There will also be bathtub races and a donut eating contest.

Festival buttons are $5 and include museum admission and entry to all events on Saturday. Tickets to the Brian Hoffman show on Friday are $15 for adults and $5 for students 12 and under.
