Vigo County Dispatch is ahead of the game for the Terre Haute Air Show.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security loaned Vigo County dispatchers a mobile command center.
Inside, there are four dispatchers who will be working the airshow from open to close.
Crews set up a Geo-fence around the airshow grounds; all 911 calls made in the area will go straight to the mobile center for faster response times.
This is the first time the state of Indiana has seen a mobile command center, and even the first time in the midwest.
“We do this, we can show the folks who maybe work for the 500, the Brick Yard, or the state fair they can do the same thing and run their communications for the large events there too,” Rob Mcmullen, Director Vigo County 911.
