A weekend car accident results in the death of one person.
The accident happened early Saturday morning.
A 2008 Ford pick up truck driven by Jerald Swartzentruber of Washington, Indiana, was traveling South on County Road 650 East, carrying four other passengers.
A witness told the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department that Swartzentruber passed a southbound vehicle and the drove off into a field.
The vehicle overturned ejecting all 5 passengers from the vehicle.
The passengers included 20 year old Austin Swartzentruber, 19 year old Destiny Wagler, 18 year old Gage Miller and 19 year old Madison Wagler.
Madison was transported to St. Mary’s in Evansville where he later died.
Jareld Swartzentruber is currently in critical condition.
The other three passengers are listed as stable.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident. Toxicology reports are still pending.
