Becoming a member of the Boy Scouts of America is quite an honor, but on Wednesday, they were the ones being honored.
The Terre Haute Clabber Girl hosted the 5th Annual Night of Scouting Event, where folks in the Wabash Valley celebrate all local scout members and all the great services they do for their community.
They also honored former Indiana representative and eagle scout, Ed Pease, by presenting him the “2018 Good Scout Award.”
Officials say this is a special event that highlights the great skills and passion of scouting.
“So part of this event is during the reception we love to be able to highlight different aspects of our programming; so we’ve chosen to feature different specific programs in scouting,” said Carolyn Small, Senior Development Director of the Boy Scouts of America.
One of those programs for example, is called the “Venturing Crew,” this program aims to help young scouts get out into the world, seek adventure and perform services that help others in need.
Their latest adventure, a three week missionary service in Africa.
