It’s been over three months since Terre Haute Police Officer Rob Pitts was killed in the line of duty, but his memory continues to live on in the Wabash Valley.

On Tuesday, THPD officials announced that on Monday, August 27th, they will unveil the “Officer Rob S. Pitts Memorial Way” street sign.

It will be hung up at Canal and Davis Streets in Terre Haute.

The memorial street sign was proposed to the Terre Haute City Council back in June, as a way for the community to honor the fallen officer’s memory.

The council voted unanimously on the measure.

THPD officers will be holding the street sign ceremony on Monday, at 9:00 a.m.

Also the Terre Haute Police Department is still selling Officer Pitts bracelets to collect money for his statue.

You can pick yours up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Records Division at THPD headquarters. The bracelets are $2 a piece.
