Carmel, IN - He touched so many lives around the country. However on New Year's Day, Tyler Trent lost his battle against cancer. But tonight, the young man's life was celebrated. Thousands of people attended the event at College Park Church in Carmel.
Speakers reflected on Tyler's life and how he became the Purdue Superfan, even inspiring the Boilermakers to an upset win over Ohio State.
A highlight of the event was a moving video tribute to Tyler, in his own words.
"Peace, it's been hard to find in the last year for sure. I always want to leave a legacy of what the Lord can do when you allow him to work in your life and when he's glorified through everything," said Tyler.
The pastor of the church said Tyler even helped plan tonight's memorial. He said Tyler insisted that the celebration be full of hope and inspiration.
